I have about 5 hours invested in the game, which was enough to find the three endings and unlock all but the three completionist achievements.Positives:Excellent artwork.A few surprising and entertaining twists in the story.Multiple ways to solve many scenes.Many entertaining ways to die.The obvious choice isn't always the right one.Drawbacks:A few translation errors here and there.One death was reused, albeit with different art.Overall, I enjoyed the game. I wish it were longer and am eagerly looking forward to any subsequent games in the series.. Swordbreaker is a unique visual novel. The writing here let's be honest here it downright bad on the whole level. Very poor effort when into the writing. The music is decent i guess thou some extra music tracks would have helped it. Now as for the artwork it is wickedly awesome some of the best art ive seen in a while. There are also many diffrent choices that you can make though out the game giving it some nice replayability. Over all i would say that is average at best. The whole point to this novel was the artwork. Having a price tag of $2.99 is fair i would say. My over all rating would be 5\/10. With out the awesome artwork it would be a 2 or 3 at best.So should you pick this up well only if you like this type of artwork then yes. If your here for a story then i would move along.. Note: when you start the game for the first time, the openning is played in Russian, and you will only be able to change the language of the game on the main menu screen after that.On the first several playthroughs, the game Swordbreaker seemed to be a fine visual novel with unlimited choices and each mattered. However, when you have experienced all three ends and get used to the way it works, this game become a game for memory and for traversing a huge fixed selection tree by trials and errors, aiming for 100% scenes.You can probably complete all three ends in about one hour which may be exiciting in some extent, and the rest belongs to the achievements time (or boring rubbish time for this game), due to the inconvenient UI (your need to click on the text and scroll down EVERYTIME to see what the choices are, unless you can remember all of them/their numbers) and the inability to save/load (if you made a wrong choice, which of course happens a lot, you will have to start over from the beginning).In summary, this game is a tiny dessert enjoyable for the first runs and its trading cards worth its price when discount. Not recommended for those who is looking for a fantasy visual novel with a good story.. fun choose your own adventure game. Simple and funny, i enjoyed the time spent with this game.. I wanted to like this game, but as it stands it is just a comic book that offers you a choice on how to continue. Which is what I expected when I bought the game and this would be fine EXCEPT the game doesn't provide any indication as to what the right choice could be. I still could live with that IF common sense came into play, but it becomes quite clear early on that the absurd choice that makes no sense at all like throwing a dress at a shark apparantly saves your life. So basically the 'game' is nothing but trial and error.I would be even as forgiving to overlook all of the above if the GUI was even a little bit useable and I could quickly go through the game. But alas, the GUI won't let you:1) Text: only 3 lines of text are visible at a time (!), so you have to scroll through text. So when the game offers you over three choices you can't even see them all at once on your screen. You also can't even use <down> on the keyboard or something easy like that. And the font is pretty big as well so even for a little bit of text you better get used to scrolling. Granted, as I was playing on a touchpad I could not use a scroll wheel on a mouse so I don't know how that would have worked out. 2) When the GUI offers you a choice, you cannot click on the choice directly but for some reason have to click on a corresponding number at the top of the screen. This might have been acceptable to me except see point 1. For a simple 'game' like this a simple GUI would suffice. Instead I'm not sure how anyone could mess this up so badly but here we go. I'm sorry for being harsh but this was just plain bad in my book.. This game is absolutely awesome. There is so much to explore, so many creatures, so many ways to kill and ...die. Great art too. It is not your usual VN where you can just skip through the story. There are a lot of images and deaths you need to unlock so if you are searching for a fast easy game..this is not for you. If you want a great choose your own adventure game with humor and horror..then by all means go ahead and buy this.
